Dykstra Naval Architects states the client for the 266-foot sailing yacht said: “Build me my dream.” And so began the work of creating the world’s largest aluminum yacht.
Less than one year since the yacht’s design reveal at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show, Royal Huisman says it has started construction of the super sailing yacht for an Asian client. So far, the keel has been laid and the main deck is being built.
The yacht is designed to be a three-masted schooner. Dykstra says the build will be completed in 2020.
Dreaming big: The sailing yacht is so massive that Royal Huisman had to upgrade its largest shipbuilding hall, according to the Dutch builder. She is the largest sailing yacht ever built Royal Huisman’s Vollenhove shipyard and will rank in the top 10 largest sailing yachts in the world.
