Princess Yachts’ S78 leads the builder’s three-yacht S Class series, which also includes a 60- and a 65-footer. The S78 adds a new transom and cockpit layout. While the S60 and S65 have steps off the swim platform flanking a tender garage and leading to the cockpit with U-shaped dining aft, the S78 has teak steps on centerline with two sun pads set over a transom garage that accommodates a 14-foot-6-inch tender. With this sun-pad arrangement, dining space is forward, and the modular furniture allows owners to personalize the space.

Some things that remain the same are the S78’s relatively low profile, accented by a raked forward windshield, sunroof and razor-straight sheer line. Hullside glass and a sweeping superstructure enhance the visual effect. Like her sisterships, the S78’s hull is built via resin infusion for strength without added weight.

The sporty-looking yacht should have performance to match her styling. Power options are 1,800 hp or 1,900 hp MAN diesels with an expected top-end range of 36 to 39 knots.

Her salon space is unobstructed, from the cockpit sliding glass door to the lower helm. The galley is aft and to starboard, servicing the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Catching Rays Inside Matters
The Princess Yachts S78 introduces a new on-deck look for the builder with two sun pads for four guests set over the yacht’s tender garage, flanking centerline teak steps to the swim platform. The cockpit furniture is modular, allowing for multiple arrangements. The yacht’s salon has a U-shaped sofa and coffee table to starboard and a sofa for two to port, all standard. There is also a 55-inch retractable LED TV. Standard furniture is rovere oak in satin or high gloss. Walnut and alba oak are available.

Accommodations aboard the S78 are for eight guests and include four en suite staterooms, with a full-beam master amidships and a forepeak VIP. Abaft and to starboard of the VIP is a third guest stateroom with double berths, and across is the fourth stateroom with side-by-side berths that slide together to form a double for couples.
