Twin 1,360-horsepower MANs give this 52 Buddy Davis a 32-knot cruising speed and 38-knot top-end. Reel Deal Yachts

Reel Deal Yachts has just announced a price drop — from $625,000 to $549,000 — on the 52-foot Buddy Davis Happy Day.

Happy Day is a 2006 build that, like so many Buddy Davis creations, is designed and outfitted to chase down big-game fish. She has a tuna tower, an air-conditioned helm, an Eskimo ice maker (that churns out 600 pounds of ice a day) and helm electronics from Furuno and Simrad.

Also noteworthy are the rod holders on her tower legs, the flush-mounted rod holders in her cockpit, the transom door with a gate, the transom fishbox, cockpit freezers and Rupp triple-spreader outriggers.

Engines aboard Happy Day are twin 1,360-horsepower MANs, each showing 2,630 hours. They push the boat to a cruising speed of 32 knots and a top-end of 38 knots — plenty fast for getting out to the canyons and back.

Inside, the layout includes two staterooms and two heads. The galley has Corian countertops, and the interior woodwork is high-gloss teak. There’s also a varnished teak helm pod for an upscale look at the controls.

Reel Deal Yachts is marketing Happy Day as “immaculate” in terms of upkeep, with servicing on the heat exchangers and intercoolers in May 2015, and new interior carpeting in May 2016. Her engines were recently serviced, and she has newer bottom paint and wax.
