Removing the interior helm station gave designers more room for guest space.

Sunreef Yachts recently launched Blue Belly, the 12th hull of the Sunreef 70 Power and the first to be designed with a fully open main salon.

Blue Belly‘s owners commissioned the yacht soon after taking delivery in 2014 of the 60 Sunreef Power Ocean’s 11.

Designer Laurent Bourgnon originally designed the 70 Power in 2008. For the new version with a fully open salon, Sunreef’s designers eliminated the interior navigation station. The owners plan to use Blue Belly for short cruises and decided they needed only an exterior helm station on the flybridge.

The owners also requested a master cabin forward of the salon that builds on the design of the 2014 Sunreef launch 1 Life. On Blue Belly, the master has panoramic views and what Sunreef calls a “magic glass panel” separating the his-and-her bathroom from the bed.

Interior soft goods: Orna Weitz from Brosh Alon focused on flax fabrics and Italian leather.

Fixed décor pieces: Cabins are built with oak veneers and Corian surfaces.
