No Wi-Fi? No Problem

The Boat Village management tool is now available as an iPad app with offline tools.

The new app lets users work offline when no Wi-Fi is available.

My-Villages has launched an iPad app for The Boat Village, which lets boat owners coordinate service and digital management information. The app premiered at the United States Powerboat Show in Annapolis earlier this month.

Previously, users of The Boat Village could only access data on mobile devices via the Internet. The new app lets users work offline when no Wi-Fi is available, creating service requests with supporting photographs or video, as well as accessing operating manuals, how-to videos and service history. Any information that is input while in the offline mode gets queued to send to a service provider when Internet service is restored.

“We already use apps for banking, travel and shopping, to name a few,” said Kevin Hutchinson, founder and CEO of My-Villages. “Coordinating service and managing a boat using an app rather than email, voice mail, text messages or paper allows the information to be accessible and shared more easily.”

Using the app requires a premium subscription to The Boat Village. The app is then available for free through the Apple store online.
