Sea Ray Fly 520 is Easy Living

The Sea Ray Fly 520 is about solace at sea with friends and family.

The Sea Ray Fly 520 is the new flagship in the builder’s eight-model Sport Yachts line, which runs from 40 to 52 feet length overall. Sea Ray

When you look at the Sea Ray Fly 520’s convivial salon, cockpit and flybridge arrangements, it’s evident that on-the-water entertaining and enjoyment are this yacht’s mission.

The galley is aft with a dining table forward to port and a settee across from it — a nice arrangement for pre-dinner drinks and conversation. Guests here can easily mingle with friends or family in the galley, as well as with those in the cockpit when the salon’s sliding-glass door is open.

Owners can personalize the 520’s interior space more than they could on past Sea Ray models. Some options include high-gloss ebony or walnut veneers in lieu of satin-finish walnut. Yachtsmen also can select from wooden blinds or Roman shades, solid-surface countertops or engineered-stone surfaces, and woven fabrics or Brisa Ultrafabrics.

The flybridge keeps the party going with L-shaped seating and a teak table abaft the portside helm station. Plus, a bench adjacent to the helm seats two more. A refrigerator is standard in the space, and an ice-maker is optional.

Her flybridge can either be kept open, have a retractable roof or be completely enclosed (and heated or air-conditioned).

Note the galley aft setup to starboard, a position ideal for serving guests in the salon and cockpit. BOTTOM: The cockpit’s three settees create a cocktail nook set around the optional high-low teak table. The after settee’s backrest slides forward, creating a seating area that faces the swim platform — a great view from a comfortable perch when the kids are swimming. Sea Ray

The 520 has a cruising-friendly three-stateroom, two-head layout. The amidships master has an athwartships berth, there is a forepeak VIP, and abaft to starboard is a twin-berth guest stateroom.
