OTAM, a 60-year-old Italian boatbuilder whose sport boats range from 45 to 100 feet, has appointed Denison Yacht Sales its distributor in the United States.

The seven models OTAM builds are a 45, a 50 Open, a 58 Open or HT, a 65 HT, an 80 HT and a Millennium 100. Its shipyard is in Genoa and employs about 50 people. Hulls are composite, made with a blend of aramat and vinylester resin. Top speeds of 50 to 58 knots are possible depending on the model, and on average, OTAM says, its boats consume no more than 2.6 gallons of fuel per nautical mile at 40 knots — as much as 40 percent less fuel consumption than some competitors.
