Spain’s Balearic Isles are a stunning destination for yacht charter, yet only a fraction of the yachts in the West Mediterranean ever cruise there during the summer season because of government licensing requirements and fees. The owner of the Holland Jachtbouw This is Us has just completed the registration process, making the 141-footer one of the most luxurious sailing yachts available for charter in the region this summer.
This Is Us is a 2005 launch (her original name was Skylge) that recently completed a substantial, seven-month refit at the Holland Jachtbouw shipyard. The refit is currently nominated for a World Superyacht Award. Her teak deck was replaced, her hull and mast were repainted, her main engine and generator were serviced, her interior got new flooring and ceiling panels, a new audiovisual system was installed, seating was reupholstered and more.
She is a Hoek design that continues to dominate in regattas, most recently winning the 2012 St. Barth’s Bucket, and that should offer exhilarating sailing characteristics for charter clients sailing from Mallorca to Menorca and Ibiza in the Balearics archipelago.
