Cruising speed is expected to be 26.5 knots with a top speed of 30 knots.

Ferretti Yachts is going smaller. The Italian builder has just announced plans for the spring 2015 launch of a new entry-level model, the Ferretti Yachts 550, and is promising under-50-foot models in the future.

Currently, the Ferretti Yachts range spans 65 to 96 feet length overall.

“This new entry-level craft is part of a strategy aimed at attracting the interest of many new owners all over the world, for whom this new 55-footer and the forthcoming Ferretti Yachts boats will be a response to their wish to enjoy the sea as never before,” Chief Commercial Officer Stefano De Vivo stated in a press release.

The Ferretti Yachts 550 was designed by AYT&D and Studio Zuccon International Project. Interior décor is by Centro Stile. Standard layouts will have three staterooms with two or three bathrooms, though custom arrangements are available as well, including a Tai He Ban by Ferretti plan that targets the Asian market with meeting spaces instead of sleeping quarters.

Hardtop and open versions will be available. Cruising speed is expected to be 26.5 knots with a top speed of 30 knots.
