The NBC Sports Group has announced plans to cover the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this December on NBCSN.
This year’s coverage is expected to be the first of three consecutive years of programming on NBCSN, showcasing the more than 1,500 boats on display and goings-on around the 3 million square feet of exhibition space.
Coverage will be modeled after NBC Sports’ North American International Auto Show Special. A “Best of Show” trophy created by industrial designer Derek Jenkins will go to the most innovative new model design on display.
“We are thrilled to partner with NBC Sports Group and bring the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show to a national television audience,” said Phil Purcell, CEO and president of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, which owns the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. “We are proud of the positive impact the show and the marine industry have on the South Florida region and the state as a whole.”
When will filming take place? October 31 through November 4.
When can you tune in? NBCSN plans to announce air dates in a few weeks.
