Nautica RIB 15 Diesel Jet

The 15 can carry six passengers and is designed with the twin goals of lightness and strength.

The new RIB 15 Diesel Jet, the smallest model in this Nautica line, is one of those boats that was originally designed for an owner’s specific needs, but that has proved her worth and is now available as a production model.

Diesel power eliminates the need for a motoryacht to carry gasoline aboard for the tender, reducing a potential fire hazard. It also gives the 15 good range, which is important if you cruise in remote destinations. The inherent safety of jet propulsion is another plus.

The 15 can carry six passengers and is designed with the twin goals of lightness and strength. Her tube, with four airtight chambers, is made of heavy polyester cloth chemically bonded to a thick Hypalon outer coating that resists ultraviolet light, aging, abrasion and damage from spilled fuel.

Her deep-V hull is constructed of multiple handlaid layers of biaxial woven fiberglass. Nautica can supplement or replace the fiberglass layers with Kevlar, an option military or commercial clients often choose. Stringers have a high-density foam core surrounded by the same woven fiberglass.

Nautica builds its boats to order, so customers can specify color and request size modifications to meet the space limitations of a yacht’s garage.
