Mangusta has sold Hull No. 2 of its Oceano 42, a 137-foot, long-range yacht that is expected to be delivered in 2017. Her sale came just a few days before the builder’s expected launch of Hull No. 1 on June 4.

At the same time, Mangusta also has delivered Hull No. 10 of the Mangusta 165E, the flagship of its Maxi Open range. Hulls No. 11 and 12 of that model are under construction with delivery expected in 2017.

While the Mangusta 165E has been popular for a number of years, the Mangusta Oceano 42 (designed by Alberto Mancini) has not yet been officially introduced to the public.

“When we decided to enter a different market segment to the one in which we have been a leading figure and undisputed leader for many years, we were convinced and also fully aware of the fact we’d be able to play a key role in this market,” Overmarine Group Commercial Director Franceso Frediani stated in a press release. “This further sale, and the interest the model has aroused even before its official presentation at the September boat shows, confirm we are clearly on the right track.”

Design details on the Oceano 42 include a pair of sunbathing spaces at the bow near a swimming pool with an “infinity effect” waterfall and bottom glazing that lets light into the owner’s suite head below.
