Lürssen Launches Project Thunder

The 446-foot superyacht will be delivered to Asian waters.

Lürssen recently launched its 446-foot Project Thunder at its Germany-based shipyard.

The superyacht is designed by Espen Oeino. Oeino is known for designing notable superyachts like Dilbar (511'9") and Al Said (508'6"), both of which make the list of top 10 largest yachts in the world. Project Thunder takes spot No. 13 on the world's largest yachts list, tying with Blohm + Voss' Savarona.

She is named Thunder after the Taoist deity Lei Gong, who carries a drum and a mallet that produces thunder.

According to Lürssen, Her interior is "traditionally styled" and she will undergo extensive sea trials before she is delivered to her owner by the end of 2018. Keep an eye out for her cruising Asian waters.

Fun Fact: She's the 8th largest yacht ever built by Lürssen and the largest for Lürssen in 2017.
