JFA Yachts has a new cat on the water, the Long Island 85.

The Long Island 85 is powered by twin 380 hp Yanmar diesels, and she has two 27 kW generators.

The aft salon has a helm station, a dining area and a bar. The master stateroom is on the fore wet deck with a panoramic view, plus direct access to the fore net for sunbathing. There is a 16-foot tender at the stern of the yacht.

The exterior design is by Naval Architect Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group with an interior from Franck Darnet Design. The 85’s design goal was to be relatively lightweight, so JFA constructed her with aluminum hull and took into account the weight of the furniture. The result: a 60-ton yacht.

She follows on the success of her sistership, the sailing catamaran WindQuest, and they are very similar. The primary difference between the two catamarans is that the latest launch has a flybridge with hardtop.
