Heesen Yachts Launches 164-Footer

Formerly known as Project Aster, Masa is scheduled for delivery in June.

Heesen Yachts in the Netherlands has launched the 164-foot Masa, formerly known as Project Aster.

Masa is the eighth yacht in Heesen’s 5000 Aluminum Class. The name Masa means “my diamond,” according to the builder.

Arcon Yachts in Monaco represented the client throughout the build. Cristiano Gatto handled interior design, including six staterooms for a total of 12 guests. Exteriors are by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects.

According to Heesen, Masa will reach a top speed of 23 knots, powered by two MTU 16V 4000 diesel engines. She’s also below 500 gross tons.

What’s next for Masa: Her maiden voyage is expected to be to Hellevoetsluis in the western Netherlands, where she will begin sea trials ahead of delivery to her owners in June.
