Head Way South, With the Crew of Pelagic Australis!

Our new blog takes you to the high seas and icy southern latitudes of Patagonia, the Falkland Islands and Antarctica.

Head Way South

Laura Parish

Last year I spent five weeks aboard Pelagic Australis, Skip Novak’s 74-foot aluminum sailboat, exploring the Beagle Channel, rounding Cape Horn, visiting the Falklands and delivering the boat to Buenos Aires. It was a rare privilege to see this part of the world and I often reflect on this incredible adventure.

Of course, it’s not everyone who can make the trip, but thanks to our new blog from Laura Parish, the first mate aboard Pelagic Australis, you can track the crews’ adventures as they sail through these remote and stunning waters.Way South gives you an inside look at what it’s like to anchor near blue glaciers, ride out katabatic winds, swim in Antarctic hot springs. It’s armchair adventure at its finest, with great photos and some cool videos — coming to you practically live, via satellite technology! Check it out here. And if it whets your appetite, then you may want to consider signing on for your own Pelagic Australis adventure here.
