The Mystic Seaport will be buzzing with activity June 4 to 6, with close to one hundred small boats set to take to the water of the Mystic River for Small Craft Weekend. There will be rowboats, sailing skiffs, canoes, kayaks, and more, as participants share their boats, and their love for them, with other registered boaters. Registration is $20 for an adult and $10 for a child ($15 and $7.50 for members). And, if you really want to make it a weekend on the water, interested parties can sign up to spend Saturday night aboard the tall ship Joseph Conrad (the price is $30 per person and space is limited). The waters of Roche Harbor, Washington, will play host to the 14th Annual Bayliner and Meridian Yacht Rendezvous this June 3 to 5. Put on by Lake Union Sea Ray, the event will feature cooking sessions with Bill Shaw, the chef of Roche Harbor’s McMillin’s Dining Room, along with a Hawaiian-shirt-themed, margarita-fueled evening of carousing on Friday. On Saturday there is a Washington wine tasting event and a donut-eating contest. For more information, visit www.lakeunionsearay.com.
The Finger Lakes chapter of the Antique Outboard Motor Club, along with Paradise Boat Works and Nickle City Classics, will be holding their Silver Lake Spring Dust Off on Saturday, June 5. The event will be held at Silver Lake Marine, Inc., in Silver Springs, New York. It is a great single-day event for the owners of classic boats to meet, share stories and advice, and enjoy food, friends, and their highly varnished passions.
