What's going on now in the world of boating?


The New York Boat Show will be at the Jacob Javits Convention Center this January 20 to 24. The boat show is celebrating it's 105th year, and there will be fun events like a wing eating contest, a bikini contest, and their new Fish Tales contest, where the person judged to have the best fishing story will win a Lowrance HDS-7 Fishfinder/Chartplotter valued at almost $1,000. www.nyboatshow.com

Nordhavn owners are invited to participate in the first annual Mad Fish Hunt. Turn in your biggest catch between now and February 1, 2010, in categories such as most unusual fish, most unusual location, and catch made farthest from land. www.nordhavn.com The Fort Lauderdale History Center is featuring the exhibit Streamline: Frank Lloyd Wright in Fort Lauderdale, now through February 7, 2010.
