From the quays of Paris to the docks of Antigua, December is a good month for yachtsmen.

The 50th Annual Salon Nautique de Paris will take place this December 4 – 12. The event will feature close to 1,400 boats on display, with nearly 300 new vessels. In addition to the boats on display, there is the presentation of the Book of Nautic, a literary award given to exceptional stories of the sea or sea-faring adventures, and Cooking Aboard, a feature new to the 2010 show, where chefs and skippers share tips and recipes for onboard cooking. Spanning nine days, the Salon Nautique de Paris is a great chance for yachtsmen to spend time in one of the world's most historic cities and get their fill of new boats and products. Mystic Seaport will be hosting Christmas by the Sea, their new holiday maritime experience, Thursdays through Sundays starting November 26 and running through January 2. Visitors will be able to experience a 19th century Christmas as they stroll through the decorated Mystic Village. There will be a wide array of holiday themed activities, from listening to the chanteymen sings holiday songs to candle dipping at Buckingham-Hall House to making souvenir toys at St. Nicholas' Workshop. The 49th Annual Antigua Charter Yacht Show will take place this December 6 – 11. The show has been extended to cover six days and will take place at Nelson's Dockyard Marina in English Harbour, as well as Falmouth Harbour Marina and the Antigua Yacht Club, both located in Falmouth Harbour. This year's event will feature a "Day Sail" day on Saturday, December 11, where management companies will have the opportunity to invite visiting brokers aboard to experience a "micro-charter," cruising Antigua's coastal waters.
