Apparently, Doug Von Allmen’s ambitions have changed.

In 2013, Simon & Schuster published “Grand Ambition,” a book by G. Bruce Knecht about construction of the 187-foot Trinity_ Lady Linda_. The book gave an insider’s look at construction of the superyacht, which Von Allmen, a private equity investor, wanted to be the best yacht ever built in the United States. He reportedly spent $40 million on the project, which endured construction trials and tribulations as his fortunes changed during the great economic recession. He continued with the build despite massive personal financial losses, and since her launch in 2012,_ Lady Linda_ has been chartering when Von Allmen isn’t using her.

Now, Lady Linda‘s story is about to continue with a new chapter — and a new lead character playing the role of yacht owner. Von Allman has listed Lady Linda for sale with International Yacht Collection at an asking price of $43.9 million.
