Furuno NXT Radar: Rain Mode

Furuno’s NXT radars are Solid-State Radars utilizing Doppler technology to ensure the safest navigation. The NXT series features Target Analyzer™, Fast Target Tracking™, and Auto Target Acquire function to offer optimal detection and sensitivity of hazardous objects. Plus, the NXT radars have a new, incredible rain mode that helps you monitor and spot storms. So, if you’re serious about keeping your family safe when you are on the water, Furuno’s NXT Solid-State Radars is a must have tool.

Experienced radar operators may know what rain looks like when displayed on the screen, but for many, it is difficult to know exactly what they are looking at. This is where Furuno’s all-new rain mode is a game changer for many captains. Rain mode is a standard feature of the DRS6A-NXT and with a single selection on the MFD, the Radar automatically adjusts settings for echo enhancement to identify the storm cells, helping you to navigate through or around the storm safely. Once you set Target AnalyzerTM to the Rain setting, any rain in the area will display as blue targets. You can track the movement of the storm and adjust your course to navigate around the weather.

Because the DRS6A-NXT is used on Furuno’s NavNet TZtouch and TZtouch2 MFDs, you can also integrate Sirius/XM weather to add up-to-the-minute weather forecasting and NOWRad® weather forecasts. With these two tools, you will become your own onboard weathercaster.

Whether you're looking to add Radar to an existing NavNet TZtouch or TZtouch2 system, or ready to build a whole new suite, Furuno's DRS6A-NXT Solid-State Radar is a must-have for the ultimate in safety and situational awareness. For more information, visit Furuno.
