The Monaco Yacht Show may be famous for its glamorous megayachts, but the show also serves as a launch platform for many smaller builds, such as the Fjord 42 open, which debuted there last September. The Fjord 42 open is meant to serve as a dayboat, or possibly a tender. The 41-footer has an open layout and a large hydraulic swim platform that serves equally well when loading and unloading a dinghy, or when acting as a mini beach club. Also notable is that the anchor can be raised and lowered hydraulically as well.
The boat will be powered by either base 370 hp or optional 435 hp Volvo Penta IPS engines. With the latter variant, she should see speeds well in excess of the magic 40-knot mark. Not bad numbers at all, and Fjord has good reason to expect a lot from its new daytripper.
