Horizon Power Catamarans, a joint venture between Horizon Yachts and The Power Catamaran Company, has launched its first PC52.

Building Quintessence took less than 18 months from tooling to launch. She is now completing sea trials ahead of delivery to her owners this month in Fort Lauderdale and will make her public premiere at the 2014 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

“She is an ideal power cat for owner-operators just starting out or those looking for an easy-to-manage luxury yacht,” Stuart Hegerstrom, director of The Power Catamaran Company, stated in a news release. “Based on the response so far, we expect the PC52 to be as popular, or perhaps even more popular, than her highly successful big sister, the PC60.”

The PC52 is designed to be a blue-water cruiser. Her 550-hp Cummins QSB 6/7 engines deliver an economical cruising speed of 8 knots, a regular cruising speed of 17 knots and a top speed of 22 knots.

Her 22-foot beam allows for a main-deck galley, salon, stowage space and bar seating. The master cabin is in the starboard hull, and the VIP and twin guest cabins are in the port hull. Additional bar seating and a dinette, along with a helm, are on the flybridge.
