Hull No. 1 of the NISI Xpresso 50 has a buyer, and construction is under way.

An American entrepreneur has placed an order for the first NISI Xpresso 50, which is being called the “X50” for short.

The X50 is a multihull designed to accommodate the desires of traditional monohull owners in the areas of styling, strength, social areas and performance. Naval architecture is by Setzer Yacht Architects.

“Her expansive layout rivals even our own, larger megayachts to offer abundant areas to mingle and relax in,” NISI Yachts Founder and CEO Christos Livadas stated in a press release. “She will be exceptionally comfortable in open seas, with exceptional speed while delivering superior fuel efficiencies.”

NISI has been working on a hydrofoil design for this top-of-the-line GTX model. Entry-level designs featuring its new SonicFoil are expected to have top speeds of more than 35 knots while burning nearly 50 percent less fuel than similar-length monohulls.

The first X50 is expected to roll off the line this spring. Learn more at www.nisiyachts.com.
