The Ferretti Group is donating about $450,000 to help earthquake victims in Italy after auctioning a one-off Riva Aquariva Super whose “blue wonderful” hull color was chosen by musician Elton John.
“The center of Italy was hit by a terrible earthquake that caused devastation to local communities that are in real trouble now,” John stated in a press release. “As a friend of Ferretti Group and a Riva owner, I am happy to support the group’s commitment in helping the populations of those regions.”
The auction took place at the Yacht Club de Monaco during a party organized by Monaco Boat Service, which is Riva’s dealer in Monaco and France.
The winning bidder at the auction asked to remain anonymous.
Where will the auction proceeds go? To the Italian Civil Protection, which is involved in relief and reconstruction efforts.
