Fast Fisherman

Flush with fishing features, the Everglades 435cc is a fine day boat or tender.

Sam gershowitz wanted a new tender for his custom Jim Smith 105 sport-fisherman, Marlena, which he keeps in the Caribbean during the winter and Montauk, New York, in the summer. He turned to the newest and biggest-ever [Everglades][] , the 435cc, for its 360-degree walk-around fishability and stand-up living amenities within the center console. Thanks to a hull with 25 degrees of deadrise at the transom and quad Yamaha F350s, the boat no doubt delivers a smooth ride in rough water. It also gives the owner near-60-knot top speeds in his search for the next big fish.

ONLY ON THIS BOAT: The bait-prep center, with 10 tackle drawers, is abaft triple helm seats with foldable armrests, and an extended hardtop helps keep everything and everyone in between well shaded.

WHOM IT’S FOR: Serious, well-heeled anglers who can afford the kind of quality and safety for which Everglades is known.

PICTURE THIS: You and your friends have been chasing tuna since dawn. You have a good day’s catch on ice in the 225-gallon fish hold under the foredeck sole. You’ve secured the rods in the forward lockers, and now it’s time to head home in your stylish Everglades 435cc, satisfied.

Great Expectations With the new generation of big center-consoles, you expect things like 200 square feet of cockpit, a 45-gallon bait freezer, twin 60-gallon livewells and lots of rod holders. More surprising are custom touches like the etched billfish artwork in the comfortable, well-appointed cabin. Courtesy Everglades
