Evinrude has introduced the iDock joystick piloting system, designed for tenders with twin 150- to 300-horsepower Evinrude E-TEC engines.
iDock is part of Evinrude’s Intelligent Piloting System, which also includes iSteer integrated dynamic power steering, iTrim automatic trim system, iControl digital shift and throttle, and iLink mobile display interface.
The iDock joystick system uses aircraft gyroscope sensor technology to compensate automatically for wind and current. iDock connects with the existing internal hydraulic steering feature of select Evinrude E-TEC G2 engines and typically requires less than one hour to set up the joystick, module and hydraulic-hose components.
“The intuitive nature of the system will give even a novice boater immediate confidence in their ability to dock any boat equipped with Evinrude E-TEC G2 engines easily,” Olivier Pierini, Evinrude director of global marketing and strategic planning, stated in a press release.
