Yachts powered by Caterpillar diesels will now have access to the gplink management system used previously by only military and commercial vessels. Gplink is a monitoring system, which utilizes GSM and Iridium satellite communications to provide owners with location tracking, emergency notifications, as well as alarms regarding bilge levels, fire, battery status, and engine diagnostics.
Gplink will notify the owner immediately via e-mail, SMS, or phone in the event of any unauthorized activity or alarms sounding. Cat-certified technicians are also able to monitor your vessel and provide service advice and maintenance suggestions whether the boat is at the dock or on the high seas. Gplink also offers two-way e-mail services to help users stay connected.
