Grand Banks Yachts has changed the name of its previously announced Grand Banks 52. It’s now called the Grand Banks 54, or GB54, and is scheduled to premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
The GB54 will be available with a two- or three-stateroom layout, plus a settee that can double as a watch berth during night passages. There will be an upper helm station on the flybridge.
The two-stateroom layout has a galley down, while the three-stateroom layout has a galley on the main deck to port, opposite the helm.
Standard power will be a pair of 725-horsepower Volvo Penta D11s. Grand Banks is predicting a range of 1,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, with a fast cruise around 27 knots at 70 percent load.
“The 54 will combine weight reduction, strength and a low vertical center of gravity, just as we did on the 60 and 60 Skylounge,” Mark Richards, CEO of Grand Banks, stated in a press release. “We emphasize cruising efficiency both in our hull design and matching it with propulsion.”
What else will be standard on board? Grand Banks is still completing the list, but look for a 15-kW generator, reverse cycle air conditioning, a tender with an outboard engine and davit, and more.
