Benetti Yachts recently launched the 161-foot displacement vessel Elaldrea+ as part of its Custom product line. The yacht will be immediately recognizable for its forward-thinking, minimalistic exterior lines, which were designed by the Argentinian-born, Italian-trained designer Horacio Bozzo. Says Bozzo of the design choices, “The minimalism and purity of the lines are the heart and soul of this project, in which the demand for functionality embraces the design.”

The yacht will feature a beach club with a sauna, a swimming pool up on the spacious flying bridge and plenty of sunbathing areas. Elaldrea+ will be delivered to a multiple-time Benetti owner who has fashioned this yacht to his tastes, and who clearly has a love for communing with the marine environment.

The interior design was kept inhouse and done by the Benetti Style Department. Perhaps the interior highlight is the master suite, which encompasses a whopping 645-square feet. Again, a connection with the environment is key in this space, as large windows allow for excellent views and lots of natural light, and a balcony with an automatic sliding door grants easy access to refreshing ocean breezes. The suite also features a his-and-hers head, dual walk-in closets and an office for when it’s time to get a little work done.

As for the guest accommodations, there are two VIP suites as well as four more guest cabins. There the lucky few will discover furnishings from such brands as Arketipo, Poltrona Frau and Giorgetti Softhouse, among others. Juxtaposing color schemes are mixed with materials like silk and Canaletto walnut for a distinct and elegant overall feel.

The crew’s quarters can sleep up to ten crew, and also has laundry facilities and an additional storage room. The mega yacht’s main tender will be housed in a garage, though a second tender will stow in the forward sea-water pool.

Elaldrea+ will be powered by massive, twin 2000 hp MTU 12V engines that will give her a surprisingly brisk top end of 14.5 knots, and a cruise of 13.5 knots when running at 85-percent capacity.

This is a mega yacht that is right in Benetti’s wheelhouse. Which means that the builder could put all of its years of expertise into making a fine craft sure to please her owner. We look forward to hearing more about her in the years to come.
