Beneteau is on track to launch its new flagship, the Oceanis Yacht 62, with the U.S. premiere scheduled this October at the United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis.

She will be the first model in the builder’s Oceanis range, created in collaboration with France’s Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design and Italian designer Pierangelo Andreani.

“The challenge was to achieve a high average speed and a guaranteed reserve stability in the medium-term,” Racoupeau stated in a press release. “I designed the Oceanis Yacht 62 with performance, safety and perfect maneuverability in mind: maximum length on the waterline, perfectly adapted sail area, lowest possible center of gravity and maneuvering centered in the cockpit. I then concentrated on everything our experience of superyachts could contribute.”
