Lyman-Morse and Ray Hunt Design are teaming up on a new 70-foot exploration yacht aimed at owners who want to cover serious ground without giving up the ability to bring plenty of gear along. The Hunt 70 is designed around an experienced cruising couple, with a broad aft working deck sized for a 15-foot-5-inch RIB, aluminum skiff, kayaks or even a golf cart. Twin cranes handle launch and retrieval.
The interior keeps the cruising mission front and center, with a full-beam owner’s suite, separate heads, a forward VIP stateroom and convertible berths for additional guests. The galley gets dual refrigerator/freezers, a walk-in pantry and a dumbwaiter connecting it with the deckhouse.
Power comes from twin 1,136-horsepower Caterpillar C18 diesels driving through Twin Disc V-drives. Projected top speed is 28.5 knots, with a 25- to 26-knot cruise. With 2,465 gallons of fuel aboard, the Hunt 70 is intended for extended passages, and Lyman-Morse expects to launch the first hull in spring 2028.
