Outer Reef Yachts is expanding its Adventure Series with the new 540 Adventure Sport, a 56-foot cruiser designed to put more emphasis on getting out on the water. Sharing its platform with the 540 Adventure, the Sport version swaps conventional propulsion for quad 500 hp Mercury V12 outboards and adds a host of features aimed at watersports and outdoor living.
Designed and engineered in the Netherlands by Weel Sluijter Design, Studio Delta Naval Architects, Julian Moore Design and the Outer Reef team, the 540 Adventure Sport carries CE Category A – Unlimited Ocean certification. It measures 56 feet, 5 inches overall, with an 18-foot, 3-inch beam and a 4-foot draft, and has a claimed range of 2,000 nautical miles at eco speed.
The aft deck is built around the boat’s recreational mission, with storage for multiple Seabobs and a personal watercraft, while a watertight lazarette can accommodate a Williams Jet tender. Fold-down side balconies open the stern to the water, and the foredeck adds a U-shaped lounge and dining table.
Belowdecks, the 540 Adventure Sport retains the 540 Adventure’s three-stateroom layout, including a full-beam master, giving the boat some long-range-cruising practicality to go with its sportier personality.
