Raymarine says its redesigned LightHouse II user interface for multifunction displays gives owners new features that ensure a simpler, more user-friendly experience.
“In 2011, we released the first version of LightHouse when we launched the award-winning e7 MFD,” Grégoire Outters, general manager of Raymarine, stated in a press release. “Since then we have rapidly released 18 new multifunction display models using the LightHouse interface, and now we are very excited to announce our next big move, LightHouse II. … Best of all, LightHouse II is free for Raymarine owners, giving them a new, user-friendly experience that’s almost like getting a brand-new Raymarine multifunction display.”
Home-screen options include new, high-contrast color schemes for added clarity in all light conditions. The menu system is reorganized for quicker access to frequently used features, and touch-to-slide and pinch-to-zoom controls make using LightHouse II as easy as using a smartphone. There’s also a new chart engine to support Raymarine’s new LightHouse Charts, which cover U.S. coastal waters.
Additional features of Lighthouse II include multiple network sonar support, improved waypoint search and organization, expanded waypoint and route ETA and TTG calculation displays, and databar auto-hide for maximizing the size of screen displays.
LightHouse II and LightHouse charts will be available for free download starting in December by users of the latest generation aSeries, cSeries, eSeries and gS Series multifunction displays.
