Sunreef Yachts recently sent sketches for its new 85 Sunreef Power design to current Sunreef owners. The feedback that the builder received has turned the yacht into the 90 Sunreef Power—a catamaran that will have more than 5,200 square feet of total living space.

The concept for the 90 Sunreef Power is to take advantage of the volume that catamarans offer while arranging the onboard spaces similarly to monohull motoryachts. She has a main deck with dining and lounging areas, plus a master cabin forward with 180-degree panoramic views. Far forward is a terrace with space for sunpads and PWC stowage.

Up one deck via stairs from the main-deck cockpit is the flybridge, with a helm station as well as indoor and outdoor lounge areas. Down one deck via stairs from the main deck indoors are four guest cabins, a galley, crew cabins, a laundry area and stowage. At this same level, a few steps down from the aft deck, is a teak beach club that mimics the ones now becoming popular aboard megayachts with oversized swim platforms and adjacent lounging areas.

Plans call for the 90 Sunreef Power to have modular furniture on the main and flybridge decks, allowing for versatility in how all the guest areas are used. Built-in furniture will only be used within the hulls, including the guest cabins. On paper, the interior décor is modern and minimalist, but Sunreef will customize it depending on owner preferences.

Sunreef says the new yacht combines the best elements of megayacht design with the best elements of catamaran efficiency and cruising ability. The 90 Sunreef Power will have a top speed of 30 knots, a draft of about 5½ feet, and fuel efficiency that is better than most motoryachts in the same size range.
