The BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Waters has just announced four $10,000 grants to groups across the United States.

Access Monterey Peninsula in California will create segments for the television program “Your Sanctuary.” They will include a 30-minute episode as well as shorter segments to be distributed among more than 100 stations nationwide, on YouTube and via social media.

Annapolis Green in Maryland will use its grant for the Red Right Recycle program at the Annapolis sailboat and powerboat shows. The group also will create a Green Boating Event Toolkit for other organizations to use at in-water and waterside events.

The Rozalia Project for a Clean Ocean in Granville, Vermont, will use its funding for the project’s live stream chats with scientists, educational contests, and an educational curriculum for the public.

Last but not least, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary First District Northern Region in Weymouth, Massachusetts, will create public service announcements for the use of life jackets.

Do you think your group has what it takes to win one of these $10,000 grants next year? Applications for the 2014 awards will be available this fall at www.boatus.com/foundation.
