’Tis the season for new launches, with the major autumn boat shows approaching everywhere from Fort Lauderdale to the South of France. Two models that have us talking already are the Azimut 80 and the Couach 2600 Fly.

The Azimut 80 just made her debut at the annual Azimut-Benetti Yachting Gala, held this summer in Portofino, Italy, during the last week of June. The 80 will have her official unveiling in September at the Cannes Boat Show, where she will be presented as the first boat longer than 72 feet to be entirely designed at the builder’s Avigliana facility.

The Azimut 80 is said to have “incredible panoramic windows” as well as guest cabins so comfortable that they are “destined to revolutionize the way we sail.” Learn more at www.azimutyachts.com.

Not to be outdone, Couach took to Arcachon Bay, France, on June 24 to unveil its new 2600 Fly (which is shown in the photograph at right). The 86-footer’s launch marks the first time Couach has targeted the 80-foot segment of the market. Hull No. 1 is said to be a four-cabin design inspired by the 164-foot Couach La Pelligrina, which launched in 2012.

Like the new Azimut 80, the Couach 2600 Fly will make her debut at the upcoming Cannes Boat Show. Learn more about the Couach 2600 Fly at www.couach.com.
