Vicem is celebrating the first launch in its new all-fiberglass megayacht series, the Vulcan Line, with this 151-footer (46-meter). She’s the first of three sleeker, speedier, and more voluminous 100-foot-plus megayachts set to debut this year.

Five years after taking delivery, the owner of the Amels-built megayacht Ilona wanted more. Specifically, he wanted more ways of making his megayacht more enjoyable. An eight-month stay at Amels, which wrapped up last month and which marked the yard’s 37th refit, made it happen.

Plain and simple, the brokerage market across a spectrum of sizes is still pretty full. Sanlorenzo is among myriad builders that have taken trade-ins that haven’t budged due to this brokerage glut. Rather than wait for global economies to recover, Sanlorenzo borrowed a page from the automotive sector. Why not create a pre-owned program wherein the yachts are spiffed up and buyers are given a guarantee?

One of the world’s largest sailing yachts just made history as being the largest megayacht ever to undergo a refit in New Zealand. Athena, the Royal Huisman launch coming in at 295 feet LOA (90 meters), wrapped up a nine-month stay at Orams Marine Services.
