She looks almost like a military boat: definitely utilitarian, with functionality defining form. That was part of the plan from the start, of course. Nobody would buy her if her style outshined their superyacht.

YXT One (which stands for Yacht-X-Tender) is the first 78-foot superyacht support vessel from LYNX Yachts in Zaandam, the Netherlands. She launched this month with marketing that targets owners of yachts about 100 to 230 feet LOA — sailing yachts, in particular, that lack the deck space of motoryachts in that size range.

“She can carry a host of toys and large tenders while freeing up space on the main yacht and eradicating the problems with towing,” stated a press release from Fraser Yachts Worldwide, which is offering YXT One for sale. “At anchor, the YXT acts as a large beach club and, depending on the custom configuration belowdecks, she offers a sauna, spa, gym or extra accommodations for guests, staff or crew.”

Naval architecture is by Diana Yacht Design, which also worked with LYNX on the 109-foot motoryacht Heliad II. Sea trials on YXT One will begin immediately, after which the yacht will be available for viewing in the Mediterranean.
