Vicem Vulcan

Vicem, the Turkey-based builder well known for its eye-catching and midsize cold-molded-mahogany vessels sporting rich interiors, has expanded its use of composite-build techniques into the world of megayachts. This 46-meter, 200-ton, Frank-Mulder-designed and resin-infused tri-deck beauty should be hitting the water in June 2012. Mulder is renowned for creating speedy and sleek-looking megayachts such as The World is Not Enough, Moonraker and Octopussy. Sporting a pair of 3,650-hp MTUs, the two-years-in-the-making 151-foot Vulcan should make a top speed of about 25 knots, according to the builder. This vessel is the largest in Vicem’s Vision line of megayachts, which also includes 32- and 35-meter options. www.vicemyacht.com
