Ocean Alexander showcased the new 85E (shown right) at the Miami Boat Show. Riding on a semi-displacement hull, she sports a four-stateroom layout, with the master amidships with a king size berth. Forward to port and starboard are guest cabins with twin berths and a larger stateroom forward has a queen size berth. All of the staterooms feature en suite heads. Large windows welcome natural light and panoramic views into the salon, and for those guests who wish to embrace the outdoors, the flying bridge has seating and the accommodations for alfresco dining. The new Azimut 72S is a sporty Italian vessel that welcomes guests aboard in spacious comfort both inside and out. Inside the roomy salon, guests and owners will enjoy streams of natural light thanks to the power-controlled glass ceiling with UV protection, large windows to port and starboard and the four-leaf glass door entryway. A formal dining table for six expands to accommodate eight guests for larger gatherings, and the two L-shaped settees accommodate cruisers in need of rest. Forward and to port is the central helm station with two adjustable white leather helm seats. Raymarine G Series instrumentation is standard.
Below decks is the galley, situated to starboard, outfitted with Miele appliances. Three staterooms, each with an en suite head, welcome family and friends. The master stateroom is situated amidships. Another larger guest stateroom is located forward. Outside living space is plentiful. The cockpit features a large C-shaped bench with a table that, when lowered, converts into a sunpad where guests can either take in the rays or relax in the shade, thanks to a pull-out canvas shade at the after end of the flybridge. (Beneath the cushions, to port, is a two-berth crew quarters, with access to the engine room.) Up on the flybridge two chaises-lounges are situated aft, and forward to port is a sofa with a table and a small refrigerator. Forward to starboard is a helm station. Azimut’s new 40S features a two head, two-stateroom layout, with the master located forward at the bow and a guest stateroom with twin berths located amidships to starboard. Well suited for entertaining, the cockpit and the salon can be joined into one area with the opening of the sliding salon door, and, when the electrically operated sliding sunroof is opened as well, fresh air and natural light pour into the interior. Twin 480-horsepower Cummins QSB 5.9 diesels give the 40S a company estimated top speed of 37 knots and a cruising speed of 28 knots. An interesting point to note are the two groups of solar panels integrated into the external design, which can be used to recharge the batteries when there is no shore power available. Corvette Marine has introduced their new Corvette 340. An updated model of their previous 320, Corvette expanded the raised aft deck to the full width of the beam, allowing for a full beam master stateroom. In the forepeak the single stateroom features two single berths, and a head in between. The salon features an L-shaped settee to port abaft the lower helm station. The galley is aft to starboard. Outdoor living space can be found on the flying bridge, where benches to port and starboard and a bench behind the upper helm station welcome owners and guests. Standard power is twin 315-horsepower Yanmar 6LPA-STP2 diesels, with the option of twin 330-horsepower Cummins QSBs. Initial sea trials show a top speed near 24 knots when powered with the standard Yanmar power package. The 340 is now completed at the same yard that builds the legendary series of Fleming motoryachts, and the attention to quality is evident upon close inspection. www.corvettemarine.com
