Yacht owners from all over descended on the Bahamas recently to celebrate their love for yachting at the 2017 HMY Yachts Bimini Rendezvous. There were 33 yachts, 43 yacht owners, plus their friends and family in attendance for the company’s 3rd-Annual event.
There were a multitude of vessels in attendance, from sport-fisherman to center consoles to luxury motoryachts, ranging from 23' to 75'.
The rendezvous was held from June 22-25 at Resorts World Bimini and HMY Yachts hosted a variety of events, including a cocktail competition, snorkeling trips, a fishing contest, beach Olympics and a "Miami Vice" white party. Kids enjoyed the beach Olympics and adults took part in the cocktail competition, making it fun for the whole family.
Getting around the island was easy with your assigned golf cart, and during some down time guests ventured into town to enjoy notable local establishments like Stuart's Conch Salad for tasty seafood; the Big Game Club to walk in Ernest Hemingway's footsteps; and CJ's Deli for the must-have fried lobster.
Patrick Bayliss, owner of the 52-foot Fairline Targa Mulligan, was a first-time attendee at the HMY Bimini Rendezvous and when asked if he would come back next year he emphatically said “Yes.”
"We'll definitely be back! We'll definitely be back. I don't even want to leave," Bayliss said.
