There's no firm definition for the term yacht, but like great works of art, you know one when you see one. There's no doubt at all about Ariel II's claim to the title. She is a 46-foot power cruiser designed by Sidney Herreshoff and built by Herreshoff Manufacturing in Bristol, Rhode Island, in 1931. This photograph was shot by Benjamin Mendlowitz.
