A Boat That Can Fly

This yacht concept is out of this world, and the water.

London-based Schwinge Yachts has created this alien-like concept that appears to fly just above the waterline, thanks to its single vertical strut on a submerged ‘torpedo’ hull.

Tetrahedron is a three-based pyramid with four faces and six leading edges, and can go up to 38 knots. The vessel sits on three underbelly hulls while at a low speed, and the hydrofoils rotate on the lower submerged hull at a high speed, which causes the triangle to “fly” above the water. Smooth travel through rough waters is simple with this yacht’s elevated hydrofoil propulsion that reduces slamming and eliminates rocking and seasickness.
