How about a Cruise in the Fjords?

Two crewed yachts are now accepting inquiries for charters this summer in Norway.

Ocean Independence has just welcomed the 118-foot De Amstel Sunny Hill and the 140-foot Christensen Daydream to its charter fleet — with both offering bookings this summer in the picturesque fjords of Norway.

Traditionally, only a handful of international-caliber charter yachts have been available in Scandinavia, and crewed yachts more than 100 feet LOA can be almost impossible to find in places like Norway’s west coast, which is defined by miles upon miles of stunning fjords.

Sunny Hill accommodates as many as eight guests. She was built in 1987 and underwent a three-year rebuild in Sweden that ended in 2010. Work included gutting her down to her hull and installing new engines, new audiovisual and communications systems, and a new guest-area interior. Most recently, she has chartered in the Mediterranean. Her weekly base rate in Norway will be about $80,000.

Daydream is a 1991 build that underwent a substantial refit in 2004 and has been continually updated since. She accommodates 10 guests and offers unique amenities including two interior as well as two exterior dining areas. Her weekly base rate in Norway will be about $122,000.

Most notable is that both Sunny Hill and Daydream have top-deck hot tubs. Can you imagine a better place to sit with a glass of champagne and watch the fjords go by?
