B&G has just released a new V50 fixed-mount VHF with a built-in, dual-channel AIS receiver, as well as a new H50 wireless handset with a built-in charger.

The V50 VHF is Class D compliant for global use, and its AIS receiver allows for use with a single antenna. It is plug-and-play compatible with Zeus Touch and will display other boats’ distress calls on the chart plotter’s screen. The V50 also has dedicated weather, menu and channel keys, separate volume and squelch knots, a distress button, an ergonomic microphone, a large internal speaker for clear audio, and selectable Dual and TriWatch modes. It is waterproof to the JIS-7 standard and can store up to 20 contacts with MMSI details.

The H50 wireless handset complements the new V50 VHF. The handset is waterproof to the IPx7 standard, has an eight-hour battery life and charges by way of an induction plate on its back. It can be used as an intercom with another H50 unit or with the V50 base station, and it comes with a headphone jack and a belt clip.
