Feadship just launched the 203-foot Sea Owl, which the builder says has one of the most elaborate security systems ever built into a yacht, as well as one of the most customized interiors it has ever achieved.
The world just got its first view of the new 203-foot Sea Owl when Feadship moved the yacht from inside the shipyard to the light of day. The Dutch builder says the onboard security system is possibly the most elaborate ever built into a yacht, and that because the owners desire privacy, precious few details about Sea Owl are going to be released.
These eye-catching new tenders are the brainchild of designer Andrew Winch and builder Hodgdon Yachts, which recently launched the duo for delivery to their future mothership that is under construction at a shipyard in Holland.
Each tender is 27 feet long and built using infused epoxy carbon fiber to meet the owner’s requirements for weight. One is built as a limousine tender, while the other is an open design.
A few years ago, Hodgdon Yachts branched out beyond building custom power- and sailing yachts, with the introduction of its Custom Tenders Line. The Maine-based shipyard has four new tender orders on its books, with design input coming from two well-known yacht designers.
