Gilman Yachts has Deescovery, a Johnson 80, listed for $4.39 million. The 2021 flybridge motor yacht has a four-stateroom layout, a choice of several outdoor entertainment areas, MAN diesels and 25-knot speed.
Yachting previously reported that the 80-footer’s exterior lines are by Bill Dixon of Dixon Yacht Design and the interior is by Karen Lynn Interior Design.
Enter the yacht’s carpeted salon through a three-panel sliding glass door and enjoy the high-gloss joinery and a balanced blend of high-end fabrics. Immediately to port are two forward-facing upholstered Bernhardt club chairs and a uber-soft, six-cushion custom sofa forward to port that beckon guests to stay a while. In front of the sofa is a high-gloss coffee table with a diffused glass top and stowage. There are also two Bernhardt upholstered stools.
The country galley is past the forward bulkhead to port, a half step up from the salon and adjacent to the stairs that lead to the flybridge. The galley has an L-shaped Cambria quartz countertop, Myanmar quartz teak sole and an island. Forward, a J-shaped dinette is surrounded by 10 windows with electronically controlled shades so guests can dial in (or out) the sunlight.
When it’s time to dry off after a morning swim, head to the foredeck and relax on the yacht’s sun pad for two. After catching some rays and you’re ready for a beverage, head up to the flybridge’s L-shaped bar to sit back at the dinette to port and enjoy shaded alfresco dining. The all-weather-capable upper helm station is forward with a companion bench seat adjacent to port. The after section of the flybridge is a blank canvas for loose furniture and lounging, thanks to the swim platform doubling as the yacht’s tender stowage. It’s worth noting Deescovery’s 2023 15-foot AB Nautilus RIB tender with a 70 hp Yamaha is included with the sale.
Take the portside stairs to the cockpit for an evening of alfresco dining for eight thanks to the fixed high-gloss table and transom bench seat.

When it’s time to turn in for the night, four staterooms belowdecks accommodate eight guests and each stateroom has an en suite head. The owners’ stateroom is outfitted with a king berth, while the VIP has a queen. The guest stateroom to port has a double berth and the one to starboard has twin singles berths. There are crew quarters aft, accessed through the transom door. The cabin is to starboard and has twin athwartships berths.
Power for this Johnson 80 is twin 1,550 hp MAN diesels, which give the yacht a reported 25-knot top hop. Some other notable features on board Deescovery include:
