Yachting's Blog from the David B
by Christine Smith
About Christine Smith
Christine Smith is the naturalist and chef aboard the Motor Vessel David B which she co-owns with her husband Jeffrey Smith. The David B is a sixty-five foot wooden former cannery tender built at the Lake Washington Shipyards in 1929. The Smiths spent eight years restoring the boat and its original Washington Iron Works engine. In 2006 they relaunched the David B as a tour boat. Christine is the author of More Faster Backwards: Rebuilding David B which chronicles the restoration of the boat and the Smith’s first journey with the David B to Alaska.
