Delta Marine recently launched the 164-foot Arianna, a yacht with more volume than most the same size.
Arianna’s displacement is more than 780 gross tons ITC (International Tonnage Convention, a more precise measurement of volume than the U.S. system). Compare that to the displacement of many other 164-footers, and chances are the figures will be 500 gross tons or less.
Other things make Arianna stand out, too. For one, the decor follows a Polynesian theme. The owners are working with the Delta Design Group, Delta Marine’s in-house team, to set the scene. It will be executed with a combination of Macassar ebony, wenge, and koa wood paneling, among other things. Another highlight inside is a room for kids within the owner’s suite, located on the upper deck. For grown-ups, there’s a sauna within the gym—and it’s in an unusual location, forward on the main deck. Also unusual is a float-in tender garage.
Arianna will be delivered within the next few months. After her owners’ initial cruise, Arianna will be available for charter (no central agency has been announced yet). Then, this new Delta will be on display at the Fort Lauderdale boat show in October.
